It is the season of frying fish.
Ash Wednesday, which is March 5 of this year, marks the beginning of Lent, a period of 40 days of prayer, fasting and penance leading to Easter.
It is also a period when many Christians refrain from eating meat on Friday and the reason why fish fries are so popular during this time of year.
Where to find a fish fry during Lent in Stark County
Here is what the churches in the region offer with regard to traditional fish fines and Lent meals:
Divine parish Mercy, Campus St. Mary, 640 First St. Ne, Massillon. Fish Fish Fring Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 7 to April 11. Dine-in or Drive-Thru.
