The annual donation campaign, the race March 1-31Launches a celebration of 20 years of partnership between Walmart, Sam’s Club and Feeding America which has become one of the most transformative collaborations in the Hunger Rescue Space – with approximately $ 271 million in donations – including more than $ 177 million of the company and the Walmart Foundation and almost $ 95 million customers and members. Walmart and Sam’s Club have also donated more than 9 billion books of food to the Feeding America network of local food banks and partner agencies since 2006.

For each participating product purchased in store or online on Walmart.com or Samsclub.com, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal * ($ 0.10) On behalf of a Feding Food Bank America Partner in Walmart and five meals * ($ 0.50) At Sam’s Club, up to the applicable limits. During the campaign, all donations remain local. Donations of suppliers activated by sales and register donations are directed to a food for feeding America America food in a store or club community. Since its creation in 2014, the campaign has contributed to obtaining nearly 2 billion meals * for people faced with hunger.

Walmart and Feeding America’s Partnership began as a result of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, when the Walmart Foundation made a $ 1 million gift for help in the event of a disaster.
In addition to more support for help in the event of a disaster – including major gifts in the wake of hurricane Helene and Milton in 2024 – multi -year investment in the Walmart and Walmart Foundation helped finance America’s efforts to maximize the supply and sharing of food, as well as to extend its ability to buy and distribute food more which experience food insecurity.
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have funded totalizing retail agency capacity subsidies $ 15.75 million – including a $ 9.75 million Donation in 2024 – which reached more than 20 food banks and hundreds of partner agencies across the country. The subsidies expand detailed donation programs and help finance staff, equipment and transport solutions that result in an increase in quantities of food distributed to partner agencies, including pantry and meal programs.
These subsidies have helped to equip programs like The Rolling Store Food Pantry, an agency partner of the Heart of Alabama Food Bank which has been operated for years on a school bus in and around Montgomery, Alabama. With a recent grant, program leader Jeremy Lynch I boug
ht a refrigerated freezing trailer, allowing the group to securely transport more perishable food to distribution events in several rural counties.
“This has changed the situation for sure,” said Lynch, noting that the new trailer system helped distribute food at around 8,500 families in 2024. Beyond the increased frequency of vans and food books, the convenience of the new trailer offers Lynch and its voluntary colleagues more capacity and more time to help their communities by setting up a sustainable program. “These subsidies have a large impact of a large range and that is something on which you cannot really put a number,” he said.
