Dorchester County, Md. – Midhore meals on Midhore until Monday obtained a new refrigerated truck.
The new ultramodern truck will allow organizations to deliver catering bags on weekends to children. It will also help tackle food insecurity throughout the region.
With the possibility of storing frozen foods, the executive director Pam Allen thinks that this gives them greater expansion. “Farmers and organizations wishing to give watermelons or sweet potatoes, this truck will allow us to pick up these large articles.”
Allen also said that the program can grow exponentially. “Part of our program consists in ensuring not only perishable foods, but fresh
foods. This is something we would like to do.Meals until Monday made this possible, with sponsors “without hungry”, the rural council of Maryland and other groups. They all provided the funding for the subsidy for the project.
