Volunteers with a charitable organization that supports emergency workers on the front line of major critical situations served 1,200 hot meals during a three -day “resilience roadshow” at Stansted airport.
The event brought together airport colleagues at all levels – leading staff with senior executives – as well as key organizations such as border strength, Essex police and ambulance service in the east of England to strengthen collaboration and ensure that all teams are equipped to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a crisis in Stansted.
The Rapid REPIE TEAM (RRT) charity is made up of volunteers from the Christian Church of the Plymouth brothers and “puts compassion in action” by providing practical support to 999 services across the country. He did it during major incidents such as London Bridge terrorist attacks, Grenfell Fire and the derailment of the Aberdeen trains.

For Stansted Airport “ Resilience Roadshow ”, volunteers from Thaxted, Chelmsford and Colchester installed a tent outside and served the meals of RRT signature hamburgers, alongside drinks and refreshments, to keep the participants well nourished throughout the event.
It also allowed RRT to present the support it can offer in times of crisis – whether by providing food and social assistance during incidents or by participating in preparation events that strengthen resilience before hitting emergencies.
Paddy Myatt, the local team leader of the charitable organization, said: “These types of exercises are more than just planning – it is a question of strengthening confidence and strengthening partnerships at a time when it matters most.

“At the RRT, we are committed to putting compassion for action, and a large part of this offers support for emergency services on the front line.
“Our volunteers see their work hard in action every day, and events like this give us the opportunity to show our gratitude to those who keep the vital infrastructure in the course of execution and to remind them that the RRT is there to help.”
James Parrish, head of continuity and resilience of airport affairs, said: “Our three -day roadshow has been to discuss all aspects of resilience, management of activities in emergency planning and incident crises management.
“It was great to bring together and engage with our partners, including managers and airlines, as well as representatives of the British Red Cross, the police and the ambulance service.
“The RRT was a fantastic presence throughout, offering social support and hot meals that have advanced everyone. Their contribution has helped create a really positive and engaging atmosphere, and we are grateful for their support.”
The RRT also works with other organizations and services to help combat homelessness and get involved with young people and disabled charitable organizations.
